more than 20 films and was one of the most important fortress strongholds on
the old Salt Road where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory and salt from
Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond. We pass through Ouarzazate, and the
Valley of the Rose, famous for soft Persian rose oil. The deserts barren
hillsides are clustered with kasbahs (fortified dwellings). Stay in Dades upper

life. Visit the night market in Tinehir and old kasbah quarter. Stay in
traditional old kasbah with evening Moroccan dinner by the pool.
Day 3:Todra gorges / Merzouga
Our mid-afternoon destination is the auberge (small inn) in the Erg Chebbi
dunes 29km from Merzouga. Along the way we\'ll off-road into the Saghro Massif
deeper into the desert landscape, until the dunes appear on the horizon. Upon
arrival you will meet your camel guide and ride to the bivouac (camp) at
sunset, where a traditional tagine dinner is prepared (vegetarians welcome)
under the evening stars. Climb the massive dunes and watch the moon rise before
retiring to your bed in the nomad wool tent.
