Mausoleum of Mohammed V
THE MAUSOLEUM of KING MOHAMMED VNear the Hassan Tower, but centuries apart, here is the Mausoleum Mohamed V whose construction began in 1962. This sovereign led Morocco to independence and Morocco raised him a monument worthy of recognition. No less than 400 craftsmen accomplished this magnificent work. Outside, a magnificent white marble pavilion crowned with green tiles. Inside, a room with beautifully carved, center, the tombstone white onyx based on a block of granite as a polished mirror , Here, everything is luxury and sophistication. The traditional Moroccan art is put on exhibit : under a gilt cupola made of mahogany and Lebanon cedar, arises the Royal sarcophagus of Pakistani white onyx (marble).(visit the Mohammed V mausoleum is open to all).
